Study Hall: Comedy Inspired By Lectures is coming to Indianapolis for the 2025 Indy Fringe Festival! Now we need an incredible cast, so we’re holding auditions!
Study Hall is a comedy show that mixes lectures from the world of academia and beyond with improv comedy to create a performance that is both entertaining and educational. Audience members and cast alike learn, laugh, and leave without homework. Study Hall has been running regularly in Philadelphia since 2013 and now periodically performs in Chicago. Now Indianapolis is getting its own chapter. We’re looking for improvisers of all skill levels and backgrounds to put together the best cast possible.
Auditions will be held on Thursday, June 5th from 7pm – 9pm at the IF Theatre at 719 E St. Claire Street in Indianapolis. You can submit your info for an audition slot using this link.

Our audition form has all of the info you need including what to do to prepare, what to expect at auditions, and much more. If you have any questions, email indy@xroadscomedy.com.
If you are unavailable for the primary Crossroads audition on Thursday, 6/5, you can attend the IndyFringe open call auditions on May 17th and June 7th. You can register here. You should prepare a monologue as well as be prepared to improvise with some direction. If you are coming to our auditions on June 5th you do not need to come to either of the open call auditions.
GIVE A GUEST LECTURE!

We are always looking for new lecturers to join the our alumni! Schools represented over the years include Drexel University, Temple University, Arizona State University, LaSalle University, University of Pennsylvania, Jefferson University, Georgetown University, and so many more. We’ve also welcomed journalists, state senators, television personalities, and every day people that are experts in a field and love talking about what they do.
-
SHORT LECTURES
Lectures are only 5 - 7 minutes long. That's been our sweet spot for many years. We sometimes allow for an audience Q&A.
-
AUDIO / VIDEO IS OK, BUT NOT REQUIRED
If you want your lecture to have slides, sound effects, on stage demo - you can! But it is not required at all.
-
YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE FUNNY!
Funny is the job of the performers. Your goal is to educate. Our cast will take care of you and your topic and treat it with the weight it deserves. You can of course put your personality into your lecture!
-
RECORD YOUR LECTURE!
If you are not local or not able to make it to the theater we may be able to use your pre-recorded lecture!
