Announcing Scholarships & Financial Aid For Indy Classes!

Crossroads Comedy Theater Indianapolis

Crossroads is committed to making our classrooms and our stage as inclusive and accessible as possible. We do not want money to get in the way of the fun, and Crossroads is committed to providing a way in for every income level.

Crossroads Comedy Theater is excited to announce the arrival of Crossroads Scholarships and Financial Aid for our Indianapolis education program! The goal of Crossroads Scholarships and Financial Aid is to make our courses more accessible and our classrooms more representative of the community in which we teach and perform. We believe that having a wide variety of people involved creates a better experience for our students, better comedy for our audiences, and a stronger Crossroads Comedy Theater.

Crossroads Scholarship applications are open to:

  • People that feel they will add to the diversity of voices in our classrooms
  • People that identify as a member of a historically marginalized group
  • People that feel their community is underrepresented in the Indy comedy scene
  • People that are 50 years of age or over
  • Veterans
  • People in long-term recovery
  • Part-time or full-time adult students working toward their GED, high school diploma, undergraduate degree, graduate degree, or vocational degree.

Financial Aid applications are available to anyone experiencing a financial hardship, and anyone for whom paying registration in full would create a financial hardship, regardless of identity.

Scholarship and Financial Aid amounts are determined by open-ended questions in the application, which are then reviewed by our team. Amounts awarded will include:

  • Scholarship: 100% of enrollment
  • Financial Aid: 25% – 100% of enrollment

Crossroads Scholarships and Financial Aid will be available for core program courses that will begin in January 2024. Applications are now open and will be accepted and evaluated on a rolling basis through Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024.

Crossroads Comedy Theater Indy is pledging at least $3,000 in scholarships and financial aid through the end of 2024, or about $750 per session. Depending on the amounts awarded, we believe this commitment will welcome about 15-25 new students into our education program at reduced or no cost to them.

In addition to scholarships and financial aid, Crossroads offers payment plans to those with the means to pay in full, but who would rather break up their enrollment in easier-to-manage installments or those for which a balance after aid still presents a challenge. For Students, Teachers, and Administrators there’s the EDU discount, which offers discounted enrollment in core program courses. For those interested in multiple courses, Crossroads offers a class bundle discount offering up to 20% off the regular price of courses taking place in the same session when purchased together. Lastly there are early enrollment periods during which students can enroll and save some money, as well as occasional flash sales.

Crossroads Comedy Theater is currently pursuing 501c3 status as a nonprofit. We believe this formation more closely aligns with our community-minded goals as an arts and arts education organization. Until our transition is complete, we are fiscally sponsored through Fractured Atlas and are accepting donations to help cover the costs of our scholarship program and other ongoing operational expenses. Crossroads is committed to making our classrooms and our stage as inclusive and accessible as possible. We do not want money to get in the way of the fun, and Crossroads is committed to providing a way in for every income level. We will continue to improve these programs based on the feedback we receive. We also recognize that there is much more that we can do beyond the financials, and we promise that as we grow, our efforts to include as many people as possible in our theater will grow and expand with us.

If you have any questions about any of the above student aid options, we have set up a page on our website with all current student aid options at XroadsComedyIndy.com/Student-Aid. You can also feel free to reach out to us at classes@xroadscomedyindy.com or call/text at (317) 203-9452.
